Do I have to pay a fee to sign up with Mechle.com?

If you log in and go to My Mechle, click on My Details, and click on Update My Customer Details. Once your details have been changed, click on the Save Changes button.

How to Bid and Keep Track of Auction Items
I want to bid now, what do I need to do?
You need to sign up with us first, by clicking on Join Now. Fill in our registration form, and we will send you an email with confirmation immediately. Click here to read more about how to bid with Mechle.com.
How do I know, if any new auction items been recently added?
On Mechle.com's home page, click on Recently Added, and items that have been added in the last 24 hours will be displayed. Alternatively, log in and go to My Mechle, and My Favourites and create and save your search.
How do I know, which auctions are ending soon?
On Mechle.com's home page, click on Ending Soon, and auctions ending in the next 24 hours will be displayed. Alternatively, log in and go to My Mechle, and My Favourites and create and save your search.
How do I keep track of what I'm buying and/or selling?
Log in and go to My Mechle, and click on relevant categories under Buying or Selling. Both sellers and buyers will also stay informed via email. Buyers will be notified, if they have been outbid, and sellers will be informed once the item(s) has been sold, and much more.
How does Auto-E-Bid work?
If you do not have the time to monitor the bidding activity, you can place your maximum bid, called Auto-E-Bid. Your maximum bid will not be visible to other bidders. Mechle.com will place incremental bids on your behalf, every time a new bid has been placed, until your Auto-E-Bid amount has been reached. However, should you be outbid, you will immediately receive an email notification, and it is your decision to change your Auto-E-Bid amount. The Auto-E-Bid can be lowered or increased, if the auction has not reached your stated limit. Just choose a new amount from the pick list.
How does the Extended Bidding Time work?
When an auction is set to end on a particular date/time, and if bidding activity is still occurring before the close of auction, bidding time is extended by three minutes after each active bid. This ensures that every potential buyer with Mechle.com has the opportunity to make a counter bid on the item they desire, and to continue bidding until the item is won. These three minute bid extensions will continue until all active bidding on that particular item has ceased.
What if two bidders place the same Auto E-Bid?
In case, two or more bidders place the same Auto-E-Bid, the Auto-E-Bid entered first will have priority. The activity will be visible in Bidding History under each item.

How much will I pay as a buyer?
Our buyer's premium is 20% of the hammer price. You will be informed about the total amount (the hammer price + buyer's commission), before you confirm your bid. 10% GST is included in the buyer's commission price.
How long do the auctions last?
Either 7 or 14 days.
I live outside Australia; I need to see exchange rates?
If you have chosen Preferred Currency (other than Australian dollars), every time you bid, an estimated price in your preferred currency will be displayed in the drop down lists as a guideline only. How will I be invoiced?
You will receive an invoice in Australian dollars via your registered email address. Check Your Outstanding and Paid Invoices in My Mechle. See payment options for more details.
What if the items I buy are faulty or misdescribed?
Please read our Returns of Goods Policy, and if you still have reason to return the goods, please email us at support@mechle.com, and we will email you a form to fill in, which needs to accompany the returned goods.


How do I sell items at auction, or get an appraisal?

How to get an estimate of an item?
Yes, you can email a photo to us. Ensure you include as much information as possible: photo, description and/or history, or a previous valuation of your item, if available. Email us at estimates@mechle.com. One or our consultants will contact you as soon as possible.
How much commission does a seller have to pay?
Mechle.com charges 10% commission, e.g. if your item sells for $1000, then the Mechle.com fee would be $100.
How long do auctions last?
Normally 7 days. If items are not sold, they will be automatically re-listed, unless returned to seller.
Once my items have sold, how soon will I receive payment?
Mechle.com will transfer funds into your nominated bank account within 30 days after the end of auction. Fore more details, please see our Sellers Terms & Conditions.

How do I pay my outstanding invoices?
When you get your invoice via email, you can click on Pay Now, and proceed from there. Alternatively, log in to Mechle.com and My Mechle, and click on the Invoices/Receipts category and Outstanding Invoices, and click on Pay.
How can I keep track of my paid invoices?
Log in to Mechle.com and My Mechle, and click on the Invoices/Receipts category and click on Paid Invoices.
